First, I would like to thank the staff at Music and Arts for hosting such a fun open mic for its students. Four of my own students played their performances included music in the first Hal Leonard book, beginner classical guitar repertoire and a medley of electric solos.
Performance is an essential part of learning and practicing art. Not only does it "test" what we know (I am rather reluctant to use that word), but it gives something of which to be proud. Many thanks to the families that came out that night.
This Saturday, March 12th I will be participating in a premiere of composer-in-residence Lisa Coon's piece, commissioned for guitar quartet. Anyone who is interested should stop by. We are performing at 7:30 P.M. More information can be found here.
The first of my master's recitals is coming up soon and I hope to see many of you there! Thanks and see you soon!
