Benjamin Tint is a classical guitarist and music educator in the Hartford, Connecticut area.
Raised in an artistic family, Mr. Tint started playing guitar at the age of 15. He began with electric guitar and took lessons multiple times a week. Electric guitar took him through his teen years. Mr Tint played in rock, Motown, metal and cover bands. He also took masterclasses and seminars with players such as John Petrucci, Guthrie Govan and Steve Morse.
Mr. Tint went to Central Connecticut State University where he studied music education and guitar performance. He studied guitar with professor Christopher Ladd and choral pedagogy with Mr. Edward Tyler and Dr. Diane Aquino.
Mr. Tint continued his education at the University of Hartford by getting his master's in classical guitar performance. At Hartt, he studied with Christopher Ladd and Richard Provost along with other guest teachers such as Oscar Ghiglia, Antigoni Goni, Jason Vieaux, Scott Tennant and Andrew York.
Benjamin spends most of his time performing guitar concerts and teaching lessons. Benjamin holds a K-12 teaching certificate and teaches guitar lessons in several locations. Check out the upcoming events page to see what's happening!
In April of 2016 Benjamin was Awarded a full concert performance for the Julius Hartt Foundation Board of Trustees outreach program Hartt@Home to represent The Hartt School. Hartt@Home is a highly selective and competitive program, matching a performer with demonstrated outstanding performance skills with a host who creates a private concert event in an off-campus setting.
